This camera is a smart buy among the DSLR offer on the market. Its sensor is probably the best APS-C sensor, that helped building the D800′s 36MP CMOS sensor.. The nIkon D5100 also offers 1080p with Full Time AF and a microphone line in with a swivel screen. So we can say it is perfect for video footages as for stills and can be seen as an amateur DSLR but this digital SLR hides a pretty advanced camera in a compact body.
It has now been replaced by the D5200, an interesting DSLR which borrows the D7000 its 39-point AF system and the D3200′s 24MP APS-C sensor.
