2/3″

This sensor size is mainly used by Fujifilm which has come with an interesting X-series digital cameras line that offers premium built quality, high-end image quality thanks to top notch sensor technology and fine optics. They started with the APS-C compact camera, the X100, then came the X10, a 4x zoom camera that introduced the 12MP 2/3″ CMOs sensor (EXR with HDR or high ISO function) and then the first X bridge camera, the Fujifilm X-S1, the best image quality you can dream of on a bridge camera, a nice built, a manual zoom 26x lens, film simulation programs, and of course this 2/3″ sensor. The X-S1 is the only bridge camera I would buy for my own personal use. It only lacks a GPS sensor, a function I would recommend on such a travel camera : yes, a 24-624mm lens on a camera smaller than an entry level DSLR makes a travel camera. Both the X10 and the X-S1 have swipe panorama functions that work pretty well, 1080p movie recording and a premium price tag…

Fujifilm X-F1 : 2/3 CMOS sensor in a sleek and stylish design

Sep 17, 2012 Comments Off by

Hi everyone. As a starter of this Photokina 2012 D-Day, after the X-E1, Fujifilm fires the X-F1. Summing the premium compact camera Fujifilm X-F1 up is fairly easy : it is directly inspired by the X10, but in a more compact format, very compact, believe me, I saw it 2 weeks ago, and not designed [...]

It took 2 months to DxO Labs to figure out how the sensor of the Fuji X10 was behaving, they told me. But they finally did break the code and went through the 2/3″ CMOS sensor secrets of this serious amateur camera, the Finepix X10. They have benchmarked the sensor and this gives us a [...]

Fujifilm X-S1 X-series bridge camera

Nov 11, 2011 No Comments by

I must tell you something. I am far from being a fan of bridge cameras although they offer tons of advantages like packing a huge X number zoom into a pretty compact body, but, I have been disappointed too many times by their image quality and poor reactivity. Using a small sensor can’t give anything [...]
