Leica today introduce a new limited edition of one of its cameras and this time, it is the high-end compact D-Lux 6, itself derived from the excellent Panasonic LX7. This D-Lux 6 has been decorated by various accessories and details made in collaboration with the G-Star RAW fashion brand which has long been working with the famous photographer Anton Corbijn.
This exclusive Leica D-Lux 6 Edition by G-Star RAW series receives a new look coating made of artifiticial fabric that would ensure a better grip of the camera. It will also be sold with a protective case made of brown leather, a belt and a strap, designed by the designers of the fashion brand.
Under the Skin of the G-Star RAW D-Lux 6 is the D-Lux 6 we know and which is no more nor less than the Panasonic LX7, one of the best compact digital camera for serious amateur on the market. It has a BSI CMOS sensor of 1/1.7″ (12 megapixels), well served by a fast lens with a maximum aperture range that extends f/1.4 at 24mm to 1/2.3 at 90mm. This generous aperture range contrasts with the poor and slow f/3.5-6.3 of the Leica X Vario announced as the Mini M last week.
