Here is a new Wacom Cintiq 13″ pen tablet that offers both a Full HD resolution screen and a touch screen with a new stylus. Among graphic tablets, the Cintiq screen overlay line represents the high end of the Wacom offer. Today it is the small size which is redesigned and gains in screen size as the 12″ Cintiq is now replaced by this new tablet Wacom Cintiq 13HD, featuring a 13.3″ screen in Full HD and 16:9 image ratio. Wacom Cintiq tablets are expensive, but they offer a comfortable working environment unrivaled since you can work directly with the stylus on the screen to refine a selection on a photo with Photoshop CS6, to apply an effect on Lightroom 4, or simply to draw in Illustrator for example. The Wacom Tablet Cintiq 13HD is designed for professional designers, graphic designers, specialists in image editing and retouching, etc.. Its screen measures 13″ and displays an image of 1920 x 1080 pixels which is visible at from a viewing angle of 178 °. Its reproducible color range reaches theoretically 16.7 million shades and all in a 16:9 aspect ratio. It offers a contrast ratio of 700:1 and a brightness level of of 250 lux. The tablet can be rotated as desired using an adjustable stand. You can even work flat or tilt the tablet at 22°, 35° or 50°. You can also remove the tablet from its dock. Its user interface redoncucts Wacom’s shortcut buttons “express keys“, the scroll ring “Rocker Ring” or the “home” button. Given that This tablet features a screen, it is bulkier and heavier than a normal tablet like the Intuos 5 but I find it is still pretty light considering it has a screen. It weighs just 1.2 kg. It connects to your Windows / Mac OS X computer with a single cable via a new 3-in-1 cable. The new Wacom Cintiq 13HD Tablet will be available next month and announced its price is $899.
