Adobe Lightroom 4.4 and CAmera RAW 7.4 RC : Fuji X20 and X100S supported, X-Pro1 and X-E1 revised

The RC versions of Camera Raw 7.4 and Lightroom 4.4 are almost operational, as usual, but not yet fully validated by Adobe. We can therefore expect to see the final versions of these “.4” iterations “of ACR and LR out in a few weeks. Some bugs are fixed here and there by these two updates, but they mostly provide support of new cameras, such as the latest Fujifilm X20 and X100S which have adopted a X-Trans AA filter free sensor. Moreover, Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4 offer revised algorithm for the RAW processing of the APS-C 16MP CMOS X-Trans sensor of the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and X-E1. The initial version was not meeting most photographers expectations and lead Adobe to work harder on the X-Trans sensor derawtization algorythm. It is extremely rare that Adobe reconsider how to process a camera’s raw images.

Here is the list of new cameras now supported by Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4 RC :

  •          Canon EOS-1D C
  •          Casio Exilim EX-ZR700
  •          Fujifilm X100S
  •          Fujifilm X20
  •          Pentax MX1
  •          Nikon 1 J3
  •          Nikon 1 S1
  •          Hasselblad Lunar
  •          Leica M
