Here is an interesting sample images gallery of photos taken with the latest wide-angle prime lens of the Fuji-X range, the Fujinon XF14mmF2.8 R lens. Announced with the new Fuji X-E1, the lens gets a manual aperture ring (that is what the “R” stands for) and offers a final focal length of 26mm once mounted on a X-Pro1 or X-E1. I feel flattered some of these images are shot in France. I recognize the gorgeous Galeries Lafayete lyxury department store atrium decorated with the traditional enormous Christmas tree and also the Paris City Hall Square (place de l’hôtel de ville de Paris).
Visit the official Fujifilm sample images gallery of the XF 14mmF2.8R lens where you can download the full resolution images (4896×3264 pixels) which were shote both with a X-E1 and a X-Pro1 which does not matter as anyway, both cameras offer the exact same image quality. Note that the yoghourts photo is not sharp as it should and affected by some motion blur.
Here is a pretty representative example of the image quality this new prime lens can deliver with the X-Trans sensor, the same sensor as used by the new Fujifilm X100s by the way.
