As I thought it would, the XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS actually sells like crazy. This commercial success forces Fujifilm to postpone the availability of the new prime lens for its X-series cameras, the XF 14mm F2.8 R. The Fujinon XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS is pushed by the fact that it is the very first X mount zoom lens, that it offers a dual linear focusing engine that boosts the autofocus speed with the X-Pro1 revised firmware and the X-E1, but also that it is sold bundled with the X-E1 at an interesting price that put the the X-E1 at a price level that is more affordable by a majority of enthusisast photographers that crave to shoot with this nice little body and its traditional user interface, while benefiting from the same image quality as the bigger more expensive brother X-Pro1, for barely half the price of the X-Pro1 (if you can shoot images without a real optical viewfinder of course). All these factors have pushed Fujifilm management to delay the 14mm lens availability to the end of January in order to fulfill the XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS orders.

I really apprediated the Fujifilm X-E1 myself and would probably buy one if I was not investing in my studio lighting equipment…
