Apple has released a new RAW compatibility update whcih is available right now. The version 4.02 brings the support to Apple Mac OS X, Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11 of the RAW format of 8 recently announced cameras including the latest Full Frame DSLR Sony SLT-A99. Here is the list of the supported cameras :
- Nikon Coolpix P7700
- Olympus Pen E-PL5
- Olympus Pen E-PM2
- Olympus XZ-2
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH3
- Sony Alpha NEX-5R
- Sony Alpha NEX-6
- Sony Alpha SLT-A99
As you will notice, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and X-E2 are still ignored by Apple. Actually, they are not fully to blame for that because as you may know, the complex color matrix of these cameras X-Trans CMOs sensor forces the software editors to redevelopp an entire image processing algorythm just for 2 bodies. That is also why Fujifilm had built a partnership with Adobe when they laucnhed the X-Pro1 (that is what they explained me when they flew me to Malta ISland to test the camera) so that they could be handled by Camera Raw and Lightroom.
