California based American photographer Mitch Dobrowner has wun the Gold Iris, all category prize of the international photography contest : Sony World Photography Awards, which have received over 112,000 images from 170 different countries. Mitch Dobrowner has wun $25,000 of cash prize plus some Sony photography gear, cameras and lenses, thanks to its serie called Stroms, a black and white photo work (his specialty) on huge storms and tornados. I like the density of its images and its soft ton gradations. He says he has been influenced by masters of landscape photography like Ansel Adams and its zone system. I have to say that you can see it on its images. He is working in black and white… just like the Leica M Monchrom unveiled last week by Leica !
