Sony SAL 18-135mm f3,5-5,6 for APS-C DLRs

The new DT 18-135mm f/3,5-5,6 SAM lens launched today by Sony is aimed at being mounted on APS-C Alpha mount DSLRs like the SLT-A37 also unveiled today. The lens is not stabilized as anyway most Sony digital SLRs get a CCD-shift image stabilisation system, built-in. Very compact, this 7.5x zoom lens is the lightest 18-135mm on the market : it weights only 398 grams. For those who want to travel light, it could be THE lens to use.
I expect a lot of this new SAL 18-135mm lens : Sony has designed the optical build with care, implementing 2 aspherical lenses and one ED glass element. The autofocus drive is the SAM system, both silent and fast.
