Aside the new weather resistant DSLR Pentax K-30, today, Pentax unveils an interesting lens : the smc PENTAX-DA 50mm F1.8, a lens designed for K-mount cameras, with APS-C sensors, either DSLRs or mirrorless cameras like the Pentax K-01. Its focal length will become an equivalent to a 85mm. Thanks to its wide aperture (f1.8) and its 7 circular aperture blades, it should give a delicate and smooth bokeh to your portraiture. Its front lens receives Pentax’s Super Protect (SP) treatment which makes the lens less sensitive to water spills stains or digital prints. It is also dust repellant. Designed for APS-C cameras, Pentax optics engineers could reduce the optical circle of the lens to work on a compact size lens (les sthan 4cm in length) which is also remarkably light, weighting only 122 grs.
Fast, light, compact, the Pentax smc DA 50mm F1.8 lens is also affordable. The lens will be available before the summer for $249.95 / €249.
