Dutsch photography magazine’s website (Focus) comes today with leaked images of the next mirrorless in Samsung’s digital camera range, the NX20, successor to the nX10/NX11. This new camera, still unofficial, should receive the 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor I liked in the nX200 when I reviewed it in december. Still according to Focus, the Samsung NX20 ISO setting would range from 100 to 12,800 with a ISO 100-3,200 intelligent-ISO mode. Its burst rate would reach 8 fps. We would find 1080p movie recording, the smart I-function support, this intelligently located function button, on the left side of the NX lenses, a 3″ AMOLED swivel screen in addition to the EVF and built-in Wi-Fi ! This could be the real start of smart cameras with cloud features and autosave functions that appeared on the WB150F, WB850F. I like the idea to be able to connect my camera to my smartphone to save or share images decently shot with a better camera to upload on Flickr or facebook, edit and share via Instagram or 500px.
Samsung has announced that 2012 would be the year of smart cameras. Can’t wait to see the wireless digital camera wave they have promised.
