Fujifilm X-Pro 1 review : sample image gallery

Mar 10, 2012 No Comments by

Here is a first set of images taken with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 camera and two of the Fujinon XF lenses. You can download their full resolution versions, JPEG straight out of the camera, unedited, unretouched. Prior to the full review of the X-Pro1, this will give you an idea of the potential this camera of a new kind has to offer. I was a bit skeptical even though I was expecting high resolution images and noise free high ISO photographs. But I have to admit, the X-Pro1 has gone beyond my expectations. Fujinon optical built is state-of-the-art optics, the sensor without optical low pass filter and a new matrix seem to give extremely satisfying results. Check the gallery out.

To know more about the Fujifilm X-Pro1.

Here is the X-pro1 gallery :

See how clean this image is, even though it is shot at ISO 1,600, looks like we used ISO 400.

Hardly found any noise on this image with the X-Pro1 at ISO 6,400. If you download it, pay attention : I focused on the chairs, so the bar is a bit blur and you can’t read the labels of the bottles. But that is not noise reduction’s fault, that is because these are in the bokeh.

A JPEG straight out of the X-Pro1 with no extra sharpening nor color enhancement (things that can be done in the X-pro1).

This one is great to give an idea of the quantity of fine details XF lenses with the-Pro1 can render. Bellow photograph is also great for that :

Fuji staff is very confident in the XF60mm macro lens sharpness. I have to say that I agree…

This BW image was created using the film simulation of the X-Pro1. It is a bit blur (shot at 1/20s). I miss an image stabilization system either on the X)Pro1 or on the Fujinon XF lens range. I hope the zoom that should be announced in 2012 will get an OIS. A fast lens is great, but improved with an optical image stabilization, it is much better.

I would have edit the RAW file of this one in Lightroom 4 if only it could handle the X-pro1 raw files… The nice bokeh of the XF60mm macro lens emphasizes this cat’s eyes. Neat.

Stick around for the full review of the Fujifilm X-pro1 with tons of Malta under the rain images…
