Sometimes…. you know I did not really appreciate the new EF 24-70mm f/2,8 II USM lens Canon announced this week because, albeit probably offering superb image quality, it has no image stabilisation system. So this standard L lens is deprived of IS… when Canon launches two interesting fast wide-angle prime lenses, with IS !
Look at these lenses technical specs bellow. I think they should belong to the L-series. They actually inherits of the L lenses built quality, weather-sealing and manual rubber maid focusing ring.
