Panasonic announced a new firmware for its latest mirrorless camera, the Lumix GX1 which review will be published next week on PhotographyDailyNews as I had a chance to spend a full week-end with the GX1 and a full range of Lumix G lenses in some Nevada Natinal State parks last week just before the CES 2012 began. The GX1 new firmware will be released by the end of January on Panasonic’s global website.
This improved firmware will bring a few enhancements to the GX1 like :
– a more accurate automatic white balance
– enhancement in the performance of its autofocus in AF flexible mode (AFF) as well as in Continuous mode (AFC mode)
– the GX1 will also be more stable when used with fast UHS-I SD memory cards
In addition to these improvements, the Panasonic GX1 new firmware will bring a few changes and addition to the menu and the settings available for the customizable Fn button.
The telezoom lens Lumix G Vario 100-300mm F4.0-5.6 Mega O.I.S. will also benefit from a new firmware that will improve the efficiency of its optical stabilization system.
Stay tuned for the review of the Panasonic GX1.
