Sony NEX-5N : 16 megapixels EXMOR sensor


Sony strengthens the NEX-5 with the new NEX-5N which will be available early September. It will get the acclaimed 16 megapixels BSI CMOs sensor (Exmor HD), a powerful HD video mode with 1080/60p, AVCH 2.0 format and the availability of PSAM  shooting modes when recording videos.

The 25-points autofocus gets a new brain and the BIONZ processor allows the NEX-5N t reach 25 600 ISO, to cut the shutter lag to an imperceptible 0.2s and the burst frame rate to reach 10 fps, but for only 10 frames in JPEG, 6 frames in RAW and 4 frames in RAW + JPEG.

The swivel screen (on the horizontal axis) of 3″/ 921 600 dots becomes sensitive and the NEX-5 offers a mixed physical / touch-screen operation.

The NEX-5 will be released along with 3 new E-mount lenses : the Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm F1.8 ZA, the E 50mm F1.8 OSS and the E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS.

The optional EVF, the FDA-EV1S, will bring the 2.36 million dots and OLED quality to the NEX-5N and or those who want to use their Sony Alpha lenses (A-mount) and access to superfast phase detection focusing (DSLR like), they can use the new LA-EA2 adapter.
